SigenStack for C&I: What Installers Need to Know

With SigenStack now CEC approved and in stock, commercial installers are looking at how it fits into real C&I projects — technically and commercially. Below is a practical breakdown to help you design, quote and position it correctly.

System Capacity & Configuration

Maximum per inverter : Up to 21 batteries per inverter — delivering 252kWh total capacity.

Maximum stack layout: To fully maximise the inverter: 6 + 5 + 5 + 5 battery configuration (21 total).

Per tower limits: Minimum: 4 batteries per tower. Maximum: 7 batteries per tower - If you are only installing one tower at 4 batteries, SigenStor may be more cost-effective. SigenStack becomes stronger as system size increases.

What is the difference between the PV inverter and the Hybrid inverter options (HYA and HYB)?

The PV inverter is designed for solar-only systems and does not manage batteries.

The HYA hybrid inverter supports both solar and batteries but does not include backup (blackout protection).

The HYB hybrid inverter supports solar and batteries and includes built-in backup capability for essential loads during a grid outage.

In simple terms:

  • PV = solar only
  • HYA = solar + battery (no backup)
  • HYB = solar + battery + backup

Scalability for C&I Projects

SigenStack is designed for modular commercial growth.

  • Expandable within inverter limits
  • Flexible tower configurations
  • Suitable for staged project rollouts
  • Clean vertical footprint compared to traditional cabinet systems

This makes it ideal for:

  • Retail centres
  • Warehouses
  • Schools
  • Small industrial sites
  • Sites planning future load growth

Installation Considerations

  • Modular tower design simplifies logistics and handling
  • Reduced floor space due to vertical stacking
  • Suitable for indoor or protected outdoor installation (subject to site conditions)
  • Parallel inverter capability depending on project size

For EPCs and commercial installers, this means simpler transport and staged installation flexibility.

How does the warranty work across the different components?

SigenStack components have different starting warranty periods:

  • Battery components (BAT 12.0, BC M2 Series, and Base) start with a 2-year Basic Warranty.
  • PV, HYA, and HYB inverters start with a 5-year Basic Warranty.
  • Once the system is connected to the Sigen Cloud, all components automatically upgrade to a 10-year Advanced Warranty.

To maintain the 10-year Advanced Warranty, the system must remain connected online so firmware updates and remote monitoring can continue. If the system is disconnected from the Sigen Cloud for more than 6 months, the warranty reverts back to the Basic Warranty.

From a sales and commercial perspective, SigenStack allows you to:

  • Offer scalable kWh blocks up to 252kWh per inverter
  • Structure staged expansion proposals
  • Compete against traditional cabinet BESS with a modular approach
  • Provide backup capability where required (HYB option)
  • Position a 10-year warranty solution

It gives installers flexibility in both technical design and commercial positioning.
