The Intersolar AWARD is presented to companies making a substantial contribution to the success of the solar industry. Each year, the solar award honours technological innovations and groundbreaking solutions.
An independent jury of industry experts assesses the leading panels on the basis of innovation, technological creativity and benefits, environmental impact and pricing. The jury was impressed by the high performance and efficiency of the black REC modules and considers the power output for this product outstanding. Its low carbon footprint and the absence of lead makes it an outstanding and more sustainable alternative to conventional solar panels that is also very attractive for the rooftop market.
Alpha Pure is one of the first mass-produced, certified lead-free PV module based on crystalline silicon and is in compliance with the European Union’s RoHS Directive on the “Restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.” Alpha Pure also offers up to 410 watts of power at 1.85 square meters, equivalent to a module efficiency of 22.2 percent. This is achieved by combining the powerful heterojunction solar cells with a wire-based interconnection technology with no gaps between the individual solar cells.
REC have previously won this award in 2020 and 2015. This combined with being a Top Performer in the annual DNV-GL PV Module Reliability score card for more than 5 years, demonstrates REC have been leaders in innovation, reliability and quality for many years.
Founded in Norway in 1996, REC Solar Group produces solar cells, solar modules and other clean energy products.
