The Hyundai 440W HeteroMax N-Type HJT – OF Series has 108 high-efficiency HJT cells, with dimensions of 1,722mm by 1,134mm, an anodised aluminum alloy black frame of 30mm, and a weight of 22 kilograms. It operates within a temperature range of  44ºC to ± 2ºC degrees Celsius.

Hyundai bifacial panel with HJT technology: more power and more efficiency

This is the first Hyundai panel that we sell using HJT.  HJT (Heterojunction Technology) is a type of solar technology that combines amorphous silicon with monocrystalline silicon in its structure. This mix reduces energy loss, making it highly efficient in converting sunlight into electricity.

Another special feature that sets apart this Hyundai Hetero panel - OF Series, from other modules is the bifaciality. The bifacial symmetrical structure is designed to capture sunlight from both the front and rear sides of the panel. Unlike traditional monofacial panels that only utilise the sunlight hitting the front surface, bifacial panels can also generate electricity from reflected sunlight on the rear side.

Solar installers should take note of the unique cell placement in this panel, as cells are present on both sides. This solar panel's exceptional efficiency, rated at 23%, ensures optimal energy production. Its performance is particularly noteworthy in low-light conditions, making it a reliable choice for regions with varying sunlight intensities.

Mechanical characteristics

Hyundai Hetero 440W is 1,722mm high, just a bit shorter than other panels, which makes it easier to handle for installations.

The thickness of the panels is important because, a wider frame on a solar panel is like having more space for the heat to escape, just like having more room for air to circulate around your computer to keep it cool. This helps the solar panel work better and last longer, especially in places where it gets really hot. So, a wider frame can be like a cooling system for the solar panel, helping it stay efficient and effective.

Long-term reliability panel - How does the HJT technology eliminate LID?

As we discussed, the new Hyundai Hetero panel uses HJT technology, which includes a type of wafer called "n-type". This helps eliminate a phenomenon called Light-Induced Degradation (LID). LID is a temporary reduction in efficiency when the solar panel is first exposed to sunlight. By using this specific wafer type, the panel minimises the impact of LID.

Additionally, the panel has a Transparent Conductive Oxide (TCO) film, which is a special coating. This film, along with the panel's double glass design, helps prevent corrosion of the materials inside the panel. This makes the solar panel more durable, ensuring that it can generate electricity efficiently over a longer period without internal damage.

Hyundai - 30 Year Warranty

This Hyundai solar panel offers a reliable 30-year warranty, backed by Hyundai's financial stability. It covers material and workmanship for 30 years, with a performance warranty. In the first year, degradation is only 1%, and from the second year onward, there's a linear warranty with an annual degradation of 0.375%, guaranteeing 88% performance up to 30 years.
